Loud as you wanna be

So everyone has been exposed to the loud boom cars, you know the cars driven by 19 to 30 somethings with high powered stereos and more speakers than a Kiss concert.

They drive around town vibrating their trunks and assaulting your ears with something they call rap ( basically a rapper is someone who can't sing in my opinion ) the bass these stereo systems produce also cause heart problems, deafness and irritation to anyone sitting in or around the car/truck. (read this article for autistic children)

Okay so maybe I shouldn't pick on Rap music in general, but 90% of the time that is the first choice for the owners of these Boom Cars because of the over bassed tracks and lyrics. That's fine, if that is what your into.
But for the most part, the youth of today have not yet learned the value of respect but as i said it is not limited to youth, adults also have been guilty of driving these boomcars around town just to attract attention.

How do you concentrate on your driving? Can you hear a siren when a police car or ambulance is around you and needs to pass your or perhaps pull you over? I doubt that you can. Hell that ambulance might be on it's way to your friends house or perhaps a family member has had a heart attack, how would you feel if you found out you were the one that didn't hear the siren and caused the ambulance to arrive a few minutes too late? Would you care, or would your attitude be like it is when someone confronts you about disturbing the peace, "eh your just hatin' on my music" as you roll up and down the street blasting your bass the neighbors are calling the police.

I have had trouble with loud music here  around the Village. There have been a few new tenants move in since the November or December of 2010 who have no respect for others, i confronted one young man about this already, his response was to run back and fourth with his music blasting, another punk in a car does the same thing and to make it worse now a neighbor right across the street started blasting their music.

My wife could see their window vibrate on their home!. After putting up with this crap for a whole day every other hour and trying to comfort our 1 month old baby (there bass was so loud that the other end of our home was still affected) I decided we have had enough and I called 911 asking for a officer to come by my house and speak with me about the offenders. The officer could only offer to step up patrols around the Village and that i should speak with management about this problem. He also told me to call the police if this starts back up again.

I really hate wasting their ( London Police) time with something as mundane as loud music but as the officer stated, thats part of his job and he knows the rules for tenants in the Village and loud music is a no-no here.
In fact, enough complaints can get you kicked out of the Village.

So what does it take to get it into their heads that it isn't about the music they listen to or their character or race or even the fact they haven't grown up yet, that this is about disturbing others in a residential area, that others have the right to peace and quiet when in their own homes.
Most don't understand acoustics, most homes are affected by these boom cars, bass penetrates most building materials with the exception of brick and steel. Mobile homes are hit the worst, the thin skins of a mobile home is cheap vinyl or aluminum siding, the insulation is thin and the interior walls are well 1/4" or less of basically pressed cardboard.  Mobile homes are notorious for carrying bass tones because the building is so flimsy.

Slow Recovery

Who knew?
Who knew Hernia and Appendectomy surgery would take so long for recovery.
It has been three weeks now and i am still feeling the affects. Side hurts like it did when i found out my appendix was inflamed. But according to the doctors and my wife , this is normal. Normal?? HA! I am used to healing fast but it seems nature has taken control and slowed the healing process. I am 40 ish and i suppose it's time to face the facts, i am not as young as i used to be. Yup Growing Old Sucks!

On the upside I am thinking about building another FM antenna for 95.7 FM and possibly another antenna for AM 1630. I have a great little AM Transmitter that i would like to get back on the air which would increase the stations range to a mile or so.

I am still accepting music from unsigned bands from all over the globe to our backyard.
If your band has a high quality demo or album on mp3 or CD we would love it if you would contact us by email to arrange sending us a copy for review and free airtime. That's right, you can get your music on the radio for FREE! We just need a good clean copy of your music (minus bad language and must be of good recording quality) for airplay on Rock 95.7 FM and the future 1630 AM.
Note all music submitted to Rock 95.7 fm must be accompanied by a letter "email"stating you own the rights to the music and are giving Rock 95.7 fm the right to broadcast "your work" over the airwaves and online.

Send Band information and or music to
In the Subject Line of your email type the words Music Submission

Well it is snowing in London,Ky right now. Seems like very little snow fall when you look out the front door and see the flurries coming down, but the road coming into the park here is a bit sloppy. We made a trip to the store for much needed groceries and had no trouble coming or going. But keep in mind, some secondary roads that may or may not see a snow plow could be slick in some spots. Parking lots are not a priority for most Highway Departments so if you must be out this evening keep in mind the main highways might be clear but driveways and parking lots will require a bit more caution..

Just slow down and allow plenty of distance for stopping between your car and the one ahead of you.
Current conditions from Weather Underground indicate London has seen 0.3 inches of snowfall already only 1 inch of accumulation is expected for London-Corbin tonight according to NOAA Weather Radio.

Re-positioning things

Everyone does this from time to time, you get tired of how your living room looks or are trying to make the best of a small space so you move things around or remove a piece of furniture just trying to make your dwelling space more manageable.

Well that is the case tonight, so expect the streaming, weather cam and weather reports to be offline for a few hours.

It's all part of our master plan, a plot to make your life miserable and our's a bit more liveable. Naw Just Kidding, but we are moving things around which means the server we use to share music, web cam and weather reports will be offline until further notice.

Sorry for the inconvenience. No seriously, we mean it this time. :)

Update: The server is back online! weather cam streaming

Getting back to basics

There are millions of ways to use the internet to promote your cause, Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo Groups, A website, Streaming, Advertisements and so on.

None of the methods mentioned above are as spontaneous as a Blog like this one here at At any time day or night I can post whatever is on my mind or share a video, music or links without worrying about the Facebook police removing it or some cry baby reporting something I post here just because they live a sheltered life.

Sure you can do that up to a certain point on Facebook or Myspace but sooner or later some pansy gets their pantys in a wad and spams the report abuse button and FB content police remove the offending posts without even giving you a chance to defend your self

This blog will reflect my own thoughts, you can keep up with station events and programming and of course, leave a comment. Become a follower today and feel free to listen using the player on the right.
